I slipped yesterday.  Yep, I missed a workout, but after I explain why, I think you’ll forgive me.  I worked the usual 11-hour day, got home in time to put the boys down, even let them stay up a bit late since I haven’t really seen them all week and I think they were wondering who the hell I was.  I sat down for a cup of soup and an apple or something like that, finished it up and had nothing but a few hours of peace and quiet ahead of me.  Then my cell phone rang.  Please don’t be my manager, or worse, the guy we call the Grim Reaper — because if he calls, it’s never good news and you know you’re in for a long night.  It was my manager.  Fast forward almost 4 hours…at 1:30-ish, I finished fixing things.  A one-word change in an obscure, yet very important stored procedure.  Needless to say, I wasn’t going to go through three sets of my 10-exercise workout.

However, I did eat pretty well, so I’ll tell you about that…


  • cheese and tomato omelet
  • low carb, high protein yogurt
  • banana
  • 1 cup coffee


  • apple
  • almonds


  • steak and cheese quesadilla
  • 1 chip (I had to taste one!)
  • water


  • 1 apple
  • Diet Dr. Pepper


  • 1 can spicy chicken and sausage gumbo soup
  • 1 apple
  • Coke Zero

Quite a bit of water throughout the day

And yeah, no workout.  But I’m doing it tomorrow to make up for it.
