Intervals again

Okay, this work thing is definitely getting in the way of me becoming ripped.  So here is how today went — I got into the office at about 8:30, and worked hard to figure out a software problem.  Well, fast forward to 10:39pm and that’s when I walked out the door to go home.  I hadn’t had dinner yet and it was getting cold again.

I got home at 11:03pm, cooked up a quick ham and cheese omelet, ate a banana, sat for a bit to let it all settle, then left at 11:40pm to go do my intervals.  There is no damn way that I’m going to let work and cold and lateness give the four or five readers of this blog ammunition to ridicule me.  Did it suck out there?  It sure did, but about half way through, I thought that it really wasn’t that bad, and the worst part was the thought of going out there — the actual “out there” wasn’t that horrible.  It sucked, but it wasn’t horrible.

I’m on the downhill side of week 1, which is good, but I have to get up in about 6.5 hours for another long workday, so I’m making the rest of this post brief.  Here’s what I ate today:

  • egg beaters omelet with cheese and tomatoes
  • 1 cup of pussed up coffee (you know the drill by now)
  • 2 apples
  • 1/4 cup roasted almonds
  • grilled chicken salad with 1 1/2 chicken breasts, spinach, light caesar dressing
  • 3 Diet Dr. Peppers
  • celery with peanut butter
  • egg beaters omelet with cheese and ham
  • 1 banana
  • lots of water

That’s it, I’m going to bed now.  See you tomorrow…

  1. Ken,

What happened, you haven’t posted in a while?!?! I can only assume that you’ve fallen off the wagon. Maybe ate a whole pizza and you’re now laying on the couch squirting Cheese Whiz straight into your mouth!! :-)

I’ll send you my number, so you can call me next time….you know like an AA buddy. But be sure to call a couple times, because I’ll be in the bar drinking and eating something deep fat fried! :-)

P.S. You know who made me leave this post!

  2. Haha, yes Rob, I know who made you leave that post! :-)

At times I wish I had fallen off the wagon, because about 5 slices of pepperoni pizza sounded really good last night. Instead I was driving the rural highways of northwest Georgia eating cold chicken and celery and hoping a horny deer didn’t run out in front of me.

But I might keep an emergency can of Cheese Whiz in my car, kind of like a can of Fix A Flat…

Thanks for the support and for following along and be sure to tell your silly little friend that somehow, some way, I’ll get her back!
